85 members of The Friends of Tunbridge Wells and Rusthall Commons gathered at the Spa Hotel for lunch on November 20th. A delicious meal was enjoyed and it was lovely to see many familiar and many new faces at the event. Use the arrow keys on the right to view images.
Clive Evans the Chairman updated the company on the various works that are currently being undertaken. He was able to report that funding has been secured for the Wild Child activities. This is a very popular feature of summer on the Commons providing many children with the chance to engage in outdoor activities. Lynne Lane who conceived of and set up Wild Child has retired from the Friends committee and the Chairman mentioned that the Friends are looking for volunteers to assist with this task.
He wished our departing Warden, Steve Budden and his partner Penny all the best with their imminent move to Somerset. He reminded Steve that the bench provided by the Friends to thank him for his many years of sterling work. Terry was presented with a lovely bouquet as a thank you for organising the lunch. The raffle riased £275 which will help fund our next restoration project.
