Who are the friends?

The Friends of Tunbridge Wells and Rusthall Commons brings together residents who have a love of the Commons. We support the Commons Conservators in their work and aim to raise public awareness of the importance of the Commons

The 256 acres of Tunbridge Wells and Rusthall Commons provide an important and most unusual refuge for wildlife within the urban area. Active management is required to maintain them for the natural inhabitants and for public enjoyment.

Please consider joining and help support the work we do, it costs a modest £10 a household. Your valued contribution includes regular newsletters, full of news and information about, projects, wildlife, social events working parties, plus, interesting reports from the Ranger.

A little about what we do.
The funds we raise have financed many projects over the years. Such as major clearance, new paths, purchasing of tools and key pieces of equipment.  In addition, we also arrange a number of fun social events each year.

Some of our members help deliver our newsletters, and some take an active part in working parties. From litter-picking, clearance of invasive species, pond and rock clearance. Let us know if this is something that would interest you,
