The Friends were set up in 1991 after the destruction caused by the Great Storm of 1987. We are a registered charity helping to look after the commons for the benefit of wildlife and the community. We hope you can help us continue the work.

Please consider becoming a Friend of the Commons and help us look after this fabulous resource of green space in the heart of our town, it's not a lot of money but every penny makes a difference.
As well as funding projects, some of our member assist with working parties, and periodically we arrange social gatherings for the young and those of more mature years. By becoming a member, you will receive regular newsletters that are full of up-to-date news and interesting information.
